Red Stick Revelry

This free event will be held at North Boulevard Town Square featuring music by Bread Pudd’n and Phat Hat.  Then at midnight the new year will be brought in by the dropping of the lighted red stick along with a spectacular fireworks display.

Party to live music from 80's band Werewolf, along with an open bar and much more.

Zippy’s Fundraiser Event

Holiday Lights at Baton Rouge General

This is their inaugural event where you'll delight at the  40-foot mega tree and eight singing trees along with twinkling lawn lights, along with live music and real snow!

This famous parade in the Kenilworth Neighborhood is in it's 45th year, and features mix of local civic groups, military and veteran's groups, bands, and political and government organizations celebrating the 4th of July.

Red Stick, White & Blue Celebration | July 4, 2017 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM

Come to the Shaw Center for the Arts' Pennington Rooftop Terrace to view the annual Fireworks on the Mississippi.  Enjoy hamburger sliders and hot dogs with homemade potato chips from Capital City Grill and dance the night away.

USS KIDD'S Fourth of July Spectacular! | July 4, 2017 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM

For two decades the USS KIDD has been hosting a 4th of July celebration in the downtown Baton Rouge area.  The evening climaxes with WBRZ’s Fireworks on the Mississippi River.

Honor Our Fallen Heroes This Memorial Day in Baton Rouge

Memorial Day is a time to honor all of those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for the freedom we live today.

You can join in showing them honor with these upcoming Memorial Day events in Baton Rouge.

Monday 

Baton Rouge Concert Band

The Baton Rouge Concert Band will be performing at the North Boulevard Town Square at 7pm.  This is a free event.  They will be playing selections of  American classics and patriotic tunes.

USS Kidd

The USS Kidd is hosting a Memorial Day Remembrance Ceremony Monday at 10 a.m. The keynote speaker will be Mrs. Kim Graham of St. Martinville, who's son, Private Mark Graham, U.S. Army, died in 2007 of wounds sustained by an IED.

Port Hudson National Cemetery

The Port Hudson National Cemetery invites all to share in placing American flags at the grave sites of fallen veterans. Please bring a tool that can be used to punch holes in the hard ground (e.g. screwdriver). There will also be a Memorial Day ceremony at 11am at the Port Hudson National Cemetery Assembly Area. The cemetery is located at 20987 Port Hickey Road in Zachary.

Of course the entertainment in Downtown Baton Rouge must be mentioned.  The world-class museums such as the Louisiana Art and Science Museum, Capitol Park Museum, and the LSU Museum of Art will satisfy anyone who appreciates art and culture. And there’s plenty of festivals throughout the year to keep you entertained.

The Easter Bunny has arrived in Baton Rouge, so it’s time for Easter fun!  There’s all sorts of Easter fun to be had over the next week in Baton Rouge, so get the family ready to meet the Eater Bunny for these fun events.

Java Mama Breakfast with the Bunny
Saturday, April 1st from 9:30am to 11:00am

Indulge in a pancake breakfast and have fun with the egg hunt and visit from the Eater Bunny. Tickets are $10 for children 6 months to 11 months and $15 for children 12 months and older.

Cortana Mall Easter Eggstravaganza
Saturday, April 1st from 10am to noon

This event features an egg hunt, along with face painting, bouncy houses and balloon art.

East Baton Rouge Parish Library Carver Branch Bunny Craft
Tuesday, April 4th from 4:30pm to 5:00pm

Bring your kids from 6-8 years old to the library for a reading of It’s Not Easy Being a Bunny, followed by crafts.

BREC’s Highland Road Park Community Egg Hunt
Saturday, April 8th from 10:00am to Noon

The whole family is invited to join the Bunny for an egg hunt and themed games, along with arts and crafts.
