List Your Home in Baton Rouge Now!

by Glenda Daughety & Team

Have you been putting off selling your home in Baton Rouge, waiting for the right time to put it on the market? Well, remember in school we learned about supply and demand – the greater the demand, the higher the price.

It turns out that The National Association of Realtors reported that the inventory of homes, in general, is at a 3.8 month supply, which is a lot lower than the 6-month mark needed for a normal market.

When you add to this the amount of buyers on the market, known as buyer traffic, then this drives up the price.  In Louisiana, buyer traffic was found to be very strong.  This is good news for Baton Rouge! This means buyers have more competition.  If you list your home in Baton rouge now, you can take advantage of this situation.

Plus many homeowners underestimate the amount of equity they have in their homes. According to a study performed by Fannie Mae, only 37% of homeowners think they have more than 20% equity in their homes.  Yet, according to CoreLogic’s Equity Report, 78.9% actually have that much equity in their home! What does this all mean? It means that many homeowners may feel trapped and don’t list their home because they undervalue it.  This contributes to a lower home inventory and greater demand.

If you’re wondering If now is the best time to sell, talk to us and we can help you determine the equity you have in your home and your opportunities in our market.
